Section – 67. Managers.
(1) Except as otherwise prescribed, every mine shall be under the control of a single manager possessing qualifications prescribed by the Central Government, and the owner or agent shall appoint such a qualified person as manager:
Provided that the owner or agent may appoint himself as manager if he possesses the prescribed qualifications.
(2) Subject to instructions given by or on behalf of the owner or agent, the manager shall be responsible for the overall management, control, supervision and direction of the mine, and any such instructions shall be confirmed in writing without delay.
(3) Except in emergencies, the owner, agent, or any person on their behalf shall not issue instructions directly to any employee responsible to the manager regarding statutory duties, except through the manager.
